-Valter-

Name: Valter Borrione

Date of birth: : 21 March 1964

Zodiac sign:  Aries.-

Profession : artisan.

Hobbies: music, reading, sofa!

Dreams and wishes to come true: Buy a house and have more than a bass, maybe vintage.

Dreams and wishes that came true: my wife Manu and son Ale.

Dreams and wishes which won’t come true : going in a space shuttle.

Music path: The first step in the world of music was at 11 years old. Since I expressed the wish to strum on a guitar , my parents enrolled me in the regional music institute of Aosta. I studied for three years classic guitar with Mario Dell’Ara, a wonderful person, for his teaching and for his humanity; the encounter with the bass is quite common: the bass player of my brother’s band Gianni left the and so brother Valter went to see if it was possible to put thing in place again. I rented a ramshackle bass and now I’m here to tell you all this with a few new, and good bass of my own property.

Music taste: Rock, pop, Blues, classic music, a bit of jazz (ex: Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie, Tommy Flanagan, Ray Brown). I think though that each music expression there are masterpieces which are able to give emotions, from Eminem to Aventura.

First record disk bought: The dark part of the moon Pink Floyd

Last record disk bought: Pat Metheney & Lyle Mays As Falls Wichita, So Falls Wichita Falls.

Artist references: Pink Floyd, Queen, Beatles, Eagles, America, Jackson Brown, Pat Metheny, Steps Ahead.

To study how to play bass, I listen to Paul McCartney, Sting, Jaco Pastorius, Ray Brown and myself, not for presumption but because when you make a song you always should put something of your own, or else someone could say it’s a horrible copy of Jaco or Paul. it’s better if they say “you are sick……” That’s it!

Instrument engineer: My jewels are called Ibanez Musician 4 strings of the 87 and a Sting Ray Music Man 4 strings. A amplifier I’m using a Mark Bass P basic 500 connected to a case with 4 cons always Mark Bass.

Advice to give: considering the low number of bass players around I’d like to suggest to not take lessons…Just leave it.. because if concurrence grows….I’ll have to work a lot! I’m joking of course Bass is a wonderful instrument, with a lot of dignity, more than what it’s possible to think. Try to believe.
